A NUMBER of sheep were killed following a road traffic collision on the Kentstown road on Monday morning (March 30).
The incident happened when a car and a jeep pulling the trailer of sheep collided.
The trailer ended up on its side and the impact of the trailer crashing onto the road may have led to the deaths of the sheep.
The road was closed for a time while the overturned trailer and the dead sheep were removed from the scene.
Gardai were called to the scene to help divert traffic around the trailer and the road was open to traffic shortly afterwards.
