Katy Death- Book of Evidence Served

A COUNTY Meath man will appear in Navan District Court on Wednesday (April 1) to face charges under the misuse of drugs act relating to events surrounding the death of Irish Model Katy French in December 2007.
24-year-old Russell Memery with addresses in Navan and Alderbrook Rise in Ashbourne is charged with conspiring with others to supply cocaine at a Statoil Garage at Bracetown, Clonee, on December 1 2007.
Katy French took ill in the house of her friend Kieron ‘Wolfe’ Ducie in Kilmessan in the early hours of December 2.
She was rushed to Our Lady’s Hospital where she died four days later of brain damage.
Memery appeared in court last Wednesday charged under Section 15 of the Misuse of Drugs Act, where a one week adjournment was agreed to by Judge Tom Fitzpatrick on account of the Book of Evidence only having been served that morning.
If found guilty, he could face a maximum jail term of 12 months.
