THREE dogs were poisoned at the weekend in a sickening attack on horse sables in Lobinstown, the Meath Post can reveal.
A ten-year-old Dalmatian was killed along with an eight-month-old Jack Russell and a small Shi Tzu in the attack that followed suspicious activity over the past number of weeks.
According to Simone Curtis, who lives at the farm, a person or persons unknown came onto their land and poisoned the dogs in a premeditated act.
“It was Saturday night and there were three dogs, a Dalmatian that was ten, we had her ten years, my little Jack Russell, she was only 8 months and then we had another little Shi Tzu, he died as well,” said Simone.
She said the farm had been broken into a number of weeks ago, but didn’t know if the incidents were linked.
“A few weeks ago we were broke into and we had a horse box stolen, and then on Paddy’s night a few people had broken in and started opening gates so we don’t know what’s happening
“It’s sick, its just really really sick,” she added.
Simone’s mother Mary said they were all devastated.
“The dogs were perfect,” she said.
The Meath Post contacted the GardaĆ regarding the incident but they said that no reports of the incident had been made and therefore no investigation was being carried out.
